    Popular! Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)
Shocked! is an informative, if biased, view of this treatment modality often (and once in a while, appropriately) used in the treatment of severe, chronic major depression. But, as this Web site correctly points out, there is a lot of misinformation being propegated by ECT proponents and people with an invested interest in the industry. Can be a slow-loading site because of its graphics, but it is very well-designed and a great site to browse and read.

Classics in the History of Psychology
It isn’t always easy to find well-known but classic articles by famous Psychologists like Allport, Dewey, Galton, James, Rogers, Skinner, Titchener, yet, these articles are particularly useful for research purposes, and simply as an enjoyable read. Christopher D. Green from the York University in Toronto (Canada), has build a website where you can find a lot of these articles, called “Classics in the History of Psychology” They are typed from the originals (no low quality scans here!) and sorted by author and/or topic. Not a complete directory but certainly a great starting point in accessing source of some classic writings in Psychology.

    Cognitive Therapy Associates
Cognitive Therapy Associates (CTA) is a network of highly skilled, affiliated therapists (licensed clinical psychologists and social workers) who all use a therapeutic approach called Cognitive Therapy, or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This kind of therapy has been demonstrated by clinical studies to be the most effective treatment for a variety of psychological difficulties: depression, anxiety/stress, panic, OCD, phobias, low self esteem, eating disorders, relationship problems, and more. The success of this therapy in clinical practice is rapidly increasing CBT's popularity as the treatment of choice for those who are seeking therapy. The clinical director and founder of CTA is Allison Conner, Psy.D. Dr. Conner has been in practice since 1993, and she specializes in using both the standard Cognitive Therapy model as well as the Schema-Focused approach to treatment. In addition to managing the network of CTA therapists, Dr. Conner provides both individual and couples therapy in her Manhattan office, which is located near Lincoln Center. CTA-affiliated therapists are located throughout New York City, Westchester County and Long Island.
